Frequently Asked Questions

  • A half-marathon (13.1 miles) and 5K (3.1 miles) are available in each city.

  • Visit the event webpage for registration details. Register early to guarantee your spot and save money.

  • Volition America does not honor any refunds, transfers or deferrals from one race participant to another.

  • Your bib number is given to you at the time of bib pickup. Bib pickup details appear on each individual race page. Please check the event page for more details on times and location of packet pickup.

  • An event may be cancelled due to severe weather or other factors that may threaten the safety of participants, staff or volunteers. Cancellation or change of date, nature or format of the event may be mandated by government officials or at the discretion of the Volition America staff and race officials. In the event of a cancellation, no refunds will be given. However, we will roll the race entry to another Volition Half Marathon/5K event.

  • Participants will be assigned to a race corral based estimated finishing time that they provide on the registration form.

  • Corrals are unable to be changed after they are assigned. Participants wishing to run together must go to the corral of the slower runner. Participants arriving late (less than 15 minutes before start time) to their corral must go to the last corral.

  • Gear Check will be available at the start of the event. Please do not leave anything valuable at gear check. You will need your race bib to drop off and pick up your gear before and after the event.

  • Yes! Official pacers will be wearing bright timing bibs on their front and back. Additionally, they will be holding signs with their pace times. Your pacer will meet you at the appropriate sign.

  • Be sure that your race bib is visible and attached to the front of your shirt or singlet. Be sure that your timing chip is securely fastened (if separate from your race bib). All discarded clothing will be donated to local charities. We are unable to return discarded clothing at the start of the race or along the course.

  • There is a minimum age limit of 14 for the half marathon (with parent/legal guardian and the child’s pediatrician approval). There is no age restriction for participation in the 5K. We rely on the common sense of the parent/legal guardian of any participant under the age of 18 to determine if they are able to complete the event. If there are any questions about the suitability of any race for a particular participant, we suggest that the participant’s physician be consulted before participation. Age requirements are based on regulations by IMMDA. For further information, please visit IMMDA Advisory Statement on Children and Marathoning. Anyone caught entering a false date of birth on their registration form will have their registration cancelled without refund.

  • All half-marathon participants must complete the course (13.1 miles) in 3 hours or less (start time). All 5k participants must complete the 5k course in 1 hour or less. (start time).

Participants need to be aware of their surroundings, which include other runners, emergency personnel traffic on course or the possibility of wayward traffic. There will be plenty of spectators, entertainment and beautiful scenery along the course.

  • Email if you are not getting emails from Volition America.

  • Walkers are absolutely welcome! We ask that all participants complete the course in 3 hours (average per-mile pace of 13:00).
